The challenge

Start with the workflow.

A store can have good products and still struggle with shipping. Missing dimensions, disconnected carrier accounts and manual labels create extra work for the merchant and uncertainty at checkout.

Build around the store’s existing checkout. CourierAPP Connect brings together carrier configuration, parcel packing, merchant pricing and the tools needed to prepare product data.

The implementation

What was built.

Product direction, website and interface implementation, plugin and API integration, workflow design and acceptance checks for the owned CourierAPP business.

  • WooCommerce shipping methods inside the existing checkout
  • Shopify cart extension and native Basic shipping-rate setup
  • Custom API integration for a store’s own backend
  • Automatic box selection and 3D packing explanation
  • Per-carrier markup and free-shipping tiers
  • AI-assisted product-data preparation with merchant approval

Illustrative capacity
40%

A single configured box, with room remaining.

Real box choice depends on item geometry, packed dimensions, actual weight and the carrier’s rules. Free space alone does not guarantee unchanged shipping.

Product decisions

The details that matter.

Keep checkout familiar

Offer delivery choices inside the merchant’s checkout. Keep optional packing detail and shopping suggestions in the cart.

Separate estimates from facts

Treat AI dimensions as proposals. A merchant reviews individual products or a batch before writing data back.

Fail closed on unsupported rates

Do not replace unavailable or expired prices with zero-cost shipping. Country, parcel and carrier restrictions remain explicit.

Evidence, not invented results

What can be demonstrated.

The October 2026 release record documents 548 passing offline checks for the Basic catalogue release.
In an owned Shopify sandbox, the managed catalogue contained 198 supported country rows. Actual native checkout rates were checked for Germany, Canada and mainland Spain.
The expired-rate and excluded-region checks produced unavailable shipping rather than an unverified price.
Project boundaries

The global Shopify Basic fixed catalogue demonstrated here uses DHL Express Worldwide. Carrier contracts, package limits and platform permissions apply. Public Shopify distribution remains separate from the owned-store tests.
